Child Protection Policy

Last year the Tasman Rugby Union (TRU) reviewed the unions Child Protection Policy in order to strengthen it and align to the NZ Rugby Child Protection policy. From this review, Kahu Marfell has been appointed the TRU Child Protection Advisor.

Each club was also asked to appoint a club Child Protection person.

The Child Protection person's role is to be the go to person for club members, coaches, managers & parents should anyone observe or witness concerning behavior and want to discuss it with someone (see Traffic Light for Responding for what behaviors are appropriate and not appropriate).

We have placed a huge importance on this as a club and have appointed Shane Graham, our Club President and a qualified social worker, as our Child Safety Officer.

Please, if you have any concerns around anything to do with child welfare contact Shane in the first instance

This will be confidential and the priority is to keep our children safe always and catch unsafe behavior early.

Shane's contact details:
E: grahs@tpk.govt.nz
M: 0272809125
